Suppression of intensity noise in a diode-pumped Yb:YAG laser

Abstract

We investigate the intensity noise of a 1.031µm diode-pumped Yb:YAG laser. An active feedback loop to reduce intensity noise by relaxation oscillation provided an intensity noise reduction of −40dB was achieved.
