Self-passive q-switching of a Nd:YAG laser

Abstract

Self-passive q-switching has been demonstrated using a Nd:YAG gain medium that is externally implanted with chromium ions through annealing process. Pulsewidths up to 2 µsecs and PRFs up to 100 kHz have been demonstrated.
