Investigation of active mode-locking of a DBR-diode laser in an external resonator

Abstract

We report on an actively mode-locked DBR-diode laser oscillator emitting nearly transform-limited picosecond pulses with several milliwatts of average power. Amplification and frequency doubling of the mode-locked pulses generate 420 mW of blue 460 nm radiation.
