Multi-watt, continuous wave, continuum generation by use of erbium fiber source and dispersion shifted fiber

Abstract

Continuum generation in the continuous wave regime is proposed and demonstrated in conventional optical fiber pumped by a high power seeded EDFA. A continuum delivering 2.3W over 430nm at the -3dB level is achieved.
