Suppression of group velocity dispersion and diffraction of pulsed beams in optical parametric amplifiers

Abstract

It is revealed that suppression of temporal and spatial spread of pulsed beams can be achieved by linear parametric amplification. An effective reduction of beam diffraction in degenerate parametric amplifier is demonstrated experimentally.
