Raman extension of the soliton self-frequency shift

Abstract

The soliton self-frequency shift is employed to generate wavelength-tunable subpicosecond solitons between 1.56-1.70 pm. It is shown that the soliton self-frequency shift can be further extended using Raman gain from an external pump.
