Novel all-optical NRZ wavelength conversion employing SOA-based Sagnac interferometer

Abstract

SOA-based Sagnac interferometers are traditionally regarded as optical RZ signal processing units. We first analyze and demonstrate NRZ wavelength conversion by introducing an interference bias for the Sagnac loop caused by the polarization control.
