Polarization Switching in Composite Resonator Vertical Cavity Lasers

Abstract

We report novel polarization switching from dual resonator vertical cavity laser diodes. Reverse bias applied to one cavity causes the suppression of one polarization and the simultaneous emergence of the perpendicular fundamental mode polarization.
