Abstract

Pyrylium-based ionically self-assembled monolayer (ISAM) materials and structures are characterized using AFM, ellipsometry, and Maker fringe measurements. Waveguides fabricated on planar substrates exhibit high second order nonlinearities and have theoretical high conversion efficiency for ADPM-SHG.
