Abstract

We measured the extinction coefficient and refractive index (0.2–2.0 THz) of methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMOS) sol-gel, a bio-encapsulating polymer. Its low extinction coefficient makes it a promising matrix material for THz bio-sensing and biological spectroscopy.
