Abstract

A semiconductor saturable absorber is implemented in a 20Gbit/s RZ WDM-emulated Dispersion-Managed loop transmission with 5 channels spaced by either 200, 100 or 50GHz, yielding Q-factors of 14.5dB, 13dB and 11.2dB, respectively, at 9000km distance.
