Lasing and Mode Locking Characteristics of Laser with Stark-Splitting Gain Medium

Abstract

The Stark-splitting gain gives a broadband fluorescence linewidth. In free running, it produces a relative narrow free-running bandwidth, and in soliton mode locking, it broadens the clean mode-locking region. Numerical simulation results agree with the observed features of a Nd:glass laser.
