Electro-optic switching through photorefractive needles

Abstract

We demonstrate electro-optic spatial two-dimensional mode switching in a bulk sample of potassium-lithium-tantalate-niobate, mediated by two photorefractive needle solitons of opposite electroholographic charge, mutually embedded in their anisotropic structure.
