Abstract

Photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) exhibit many interesting and novel optical properties.1-3 in order to explore the potentials of the existing measurement techniques in optical characterization of PCFs, an extensive program is currently being conducted by five European laboratories as part of the work undertaken within the COST Action 265 Measurement Techniques for Active and Passive Fibres to support Future Telecommunications. The parameters of main interest include chromatic dispersion and polarization related properties.
