Abstract

Periodically poled KTP (PPKTP) is a promising material for second-harmonic generation (SHG) complicates poling of thicker KTP wafers. Using type-II QPM process for the nonlinear coefficient, d24, in PPKTP the QPM period can be substantially increased.3 Type-11 process can be interesting for the blue and UV light generation by SHG with ultrashort pulses where high-peak intensity can offset the lower nonlinearity (d24 = 3.64 pm/V) and the larger phase-matching bandwidth of the type-11 process can be utilized.
