Abstract

High-power and high-beam-quality solid-state lasers are of interest in various industrial applications because of their flexible fiber-delivery, low maintenance, compact design, and so on. We have already obtained 500 W output power with efficient high-beam-quality operation by introducing bifocusing compensation resonator. In order to enhance the output power, it is one of effective measures to apply the coupling technology of bifocusing compensation resonators. However, the strong thermal lensing of Nd:YAG rod limited the output power under high-quality beam generation. In this work, we demonstrated a power scaling of Nd:YAG rod laser over 1-kW while maintaining high-beam-quality and high-efficiency by cascaded-coupling of bifocusing compensation resonators.
