Abstract

Synchronizing femtosecond laser with different wavelength has a wide application in the experiments of pump-probe processes, difference frequency mixing etc. Recent the robust synchronizing fs laser also showed an attractive interesting in the optical frequency metrology, timing jitter of 4.3-fs was demonstrated in an active synchronized two KLM Ti:sapphire lasers by an improved phase lock device.1 However, normally a relative large timing jitter remains in the conventional electrical control system. In contrast, passive synchronized two-color fs laser can be precisely locked within a small timing jitter.2 In this paper, we present a novel synchronized technique based on the fs KLM Ti:sapphire and Cr:forsterite lasers, timing jitter of less than 1 fs was demonstrated within the measurement accuracy.
