Abstract

Today commercially available semiconductor laser diodes cover a large part of the electromagnetic spectrum. The most important ones are light sources for the optical data transmission and telecommunication in the wavelength region of 1.1-1.55 pm. But recently the interest in laser diodes operating in the visible spectrum is increasing.
