Abstract

We demonstrate error-free asynchronous all-optical time-division and amplitude- division demultiplexing based on polarization-independent TDM-WDM conversion, which realizes an intensity-dependent self-frequency shift in GHz Raman soliton. An 800 Gbit/s (128 × 6.3 Gbit/s) optical TDM signal is simultaneously demultiplexed to 6.3 Gbit/s multiple- channel signals. We demultiplex a random data signal with a time slot of narrower than 800 fs corresponding to a 1.28 Tbit/s OTDM signal. Furthermore, our demultiplexer is capable of demultiplexing from overlapping OTDM signals with 2.0 ps pulse width and 780 fs time delay.
