Gratings Induced in Glasses By Femtosecond Pulses

Abstract

Permanent photowritten waveguides have been induced in different glasses.1 Both densification and structural change of the glass material are responsible for the index change.2 Hereafter we propose a simple technique which allows to write gratings in glasses using femtosecond pulses.
