Abstract
Diode-pumped Nd-doped lasers have been developed as compact all-solid-state source in the blue, green, and red spectral regions with intracavity frequency doubling. However, the region between 550 and 650 nm is seldom covered by these sources. Laser sources in the yellow-orange spectra are particularly required for medical ap- plications.1 The Nd:YVO4 crystal has been identified as one of promising materials for diode- pumped lasers with dual wavelength emission because of its high absorption over a wide pumping wavelength bandwidth and its large stimu- lated-emission cross section at both 4F3/2-4I11/2 and 4F3/2-4I13/2 transitions. In this letter, we report a compact efficient scheme to generate 593 nm laser based on intracavity SFM of a diode- pumped Q-switched Nd:YVO4 dual wavelength laser.
