Abstract
The diffraction properties of transmission gratings are often limited by the possible refractive index changes or by the thickness of the nonlinear materials. It has been shown1–3 that putting the grating in a Fabry-Perot resonator improves its performance. This paper discusses how the threshold thickness for the Bragg regime decreases with increasing finesse of the Fabry-Perot cavity.
