Abstract

Kerr-lcns mode-locked (KLM) Cr:LiSAF and Cr:LiSGaF lasers are attractive femtosecond- pulse sources because these laser materials can be directly pumped by diode lasers and have broad emission bands (FWHM ~ 200 nm) almost comparable with that of Ti:sapphire crystal.
