Abstract
Many quasi phase matching (QPM) devices have been demonstrated using domain inverted ferro-electric crystals (LiNbO3, KNbO3, KTP).1,2 It is well known that some biaxial crystals such as KNbO3, BaTiO3, have several spontaneous polarization directions.3 If these structures can be controlled artificially, the use of these crystals in optical applications will be increased. KNbO3 is one of the attractive crystals because of its large birefringence, non-linearity, high electro-optic constants, and low optical damages. In this paper, we describe artificial fabrication method 90-degree domain structure in the KNbO3 single crystals.
