Abstract

The combination of quasi-phase-matching (QPM) in nonlinear materials with novel cavity geometries allows continuous-wave (CW) optical-parametric-oscillators (OPO's) to be developed as compact, efficient and flexible sources of coherent radiation for the mid-infrared while requiring only modest pump-powers.
