Abstract

We present a simple, compact and efficient design for single-frequency optical parametric oscillators (OPOs). Devices operating near 1550 nm can be used for fiber-based sensing and instrumentation, as well as for pumping Raman amplifiers. Due to its robust, feedback- insensitive, single-frequency output, the NPRO is an ideal pump source for singlefrequency OPOs.
