Abstract

The efficiency of the Yb3+ ions to avoid the bottlenecking effect and to recycle the excess of energy to the upper laser level for the 3H43F4 laser transition of the Tm3+ ion in codoped (Yb.Tm):YLiF4 fluoride crystals was recently discussed.
