Abstract

High power optical pulses with a small spectral width are required for several applications, such as optical communications or frequency conversion. We present experimental results on the generation of short pulses with high output power realised with a three-section distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) laser, containing gain, phase shift and DBR sections.
