Abstract
Thin-film ferroelectric oxides can enable the design of highly confining waveguides, which provide the potential for low-voltage/high-speed electro-optic modulation, high packing densities for integrated optic devices, and excellent gain ion/light field overlap for compact low-threshold gain elements in rare-earth doped films.1,2
