Abstract

Near-infrared-to-visible upconversion is an ubiquitous phenomenon in Er3+ systems, and upconversion for excitation around 980 nm (4I11/2) and 805 nm (4I9/2) has been studied in detail for a large number of Er3+-doped crystals and glasses including the title compounds.
