Abstract

Semiconductor-optical-amplifier (SOA) -based all-optical wavelength converters utilizing crossgain modulation (XGM) in a single amplifier or cross-phase modulation (XPM) in one or two amplifiers placed in an interferometer1 are becoming practical because of their compactness, integrability, and low latency.
