Abstract

The recent development of powerful 940-980 nm InGaAs and 1600-1900 nm InGaAsP laser diode arrays is enabling the realization of a new class of diode-pumped solid-state lasers (DPSSLs), the "quasi-three-level (Q3L)" laser, typified by Yb:YAG.
