Numerical simulation of tapered semiconductor laser amplifiers

Abstract

Tapered and truncated-tapered laser amplifiers are the state of the art in diffraction - limited, high-power semiconductor amplifiers. Because of the divergence of the input beam, the Self focus effect is partially compensated.
