Abstract

We present results showing that a light-emitting diodes (LEDs) can be used for sensitive detection and characterization of femtosecond pulses from a Ti:sapphire laser operating at 800 nm and demonstrate how this effect might be employed to construct an extremely compact novel autocorrelator.
