Abstract

In this paper we report on the spectroscopic and laser properties of Nd3+-doped CaGdAIO4 crystal at cw diode laser pumping. A combination of suitable optical and thermomechanical properties with a possibility of growing crystals of high optical quality at high doping levels of neodymium make this material interesting from the viewpoint of diode-pumped laser applications.
