Abstract
High repetition-rate (Q-switched) diode-pumped solid-state lasers typically attain maximum power/efficiency at high repetition rates (~7 kHz Nd:YAG, ~30 kHz Nd:YVO4), but the corresponding low per-pulse energy creates problems when one uses these lasers as pump sources for other gain-switched solid-state lasers.
