Abstract

We demonstrate simultaneous 150-fold (17 ps to 110 fs) pulse compression and second harmonic generation (1560 nm to 780 nm) using an erbium-doped fiber laser and an aperiodic quasi-phasematching (QPM) grating in lithium niobate.
