Abstract

Chirped pulse amplification (CPA) is now commonly used for amplification of femtosecond pulses. But even when the stretcher and compressor are perfectly conjugated the other elements of the system can introduce group delay dispersion, which has to be compensated to obtain transform limited pulses.
