Abstract

Recently, in nonlinear-optical (NLO) photoconducting polymers, photorefractive gratings have been observed and relatively high diffraction efficiencies have been reported. It is considered that the grating is formed with periodically modulated birefringence and electro-optic coefficient through reorientation of NLO chromophores, which is induced by the space-charge field.1
