Abstract
The advantages of using the complex- coupled distributed feedback (DFB) laser structure are mainly its high single-mode yield and good selectivity, among others.1 Previously, we reported a loss-coupled DFB laser with low-chirp and a sidemode suppression ration (SMSR) over 50 dB.2 However, the lossy InGaAs absorber increased the threshold gain and induced self-pulsation.
