Abstract

We have designed, modeled, and fabricated a polymeric in-line fiber modulator capable of high-speed, low-distortion operation. This device is based on evanescent coupling from a fiber half-coupler to a nonlinear polymer waveguide and the low-distortion characteristics are a direct result of the nonperiodic optical transfer unction.
