Abstract

Diode-pumped lasers are being developed as cost effective and compact systems. To date, most of the research on direct diode-pumped femtosecond sources has concentrated on mode-locked oscillators. Recently, however, a diode-pumped Cr:LiSAF regenerative amplifier was reported1 pushing direct diode-pumped amplifiers into the femtosecond regime.
