Abstract
One of the fundamental limitations of chirped-pulse amplification systems has been their limited amplified bandwidth due to the gain-narrowing effect. At amplification levels on the order of 100-200 mJ (pre-compression), Ti:sapphire-based chirped-pulse amplification systems have been restricted to bandwidths of ~40 nm, limiting the compressed pulse width to ~30 Is. To increase the spectral throughput of these systems, we have developed a series of novel regenerative pulse-shaping schemes.1
