Abstract
Metallo-phthalocyanines (MPc's) exhibit reverse saturable absorption (RSA) at λ = 532 run and can be used as optical limiters for nanosecond laser pulses. The spectral region where RSA occurs can be infered from the transient absorption spectrum of the material. We investigate here directly the wavelength dependence of RSA in several MPc's by measuring their nonlinear transmittance under nanosecond pulsed irradiation with wavelengths ranging from λ = 430 run to 650 ran.
