Abstract

At present the fundamental radiation of tunable color center lasers almost continuously covers spectral region from about 500 to 400Q ran. Having very narrow line width, almost highest gain, broad over 2600 cm−1 spectral region of tuning using one color center crystal and possibilities of pico- and femtosecond operation regime they still play an important role to many applications such as spectroscopy, photochemistry, and biology. Among these F2+ and F2 color centers in LiF crystals have unique characteristics for tunable laser action in the 830-1280-nm spectral range at room temperature.1,2
