Abstract

Optical diagnostic techniques have long been used for flow visualization and nan- intrusive measurements in a range of wind tunnels and shock tunnels. More recently laser-based techniques have been developed extending the range of measurements possible while also, providing high temporal resolution necessary in pulsed facilities. Techniques such as interferometry, laser-induced fluorescence (LIP), and coherent antiStokes Raman scattering (CARS) have been successfully applied to high enthalpy facilities.
