Photorefractive effect in BaTiO3 at 1.5 by two-photon absorption

Abstract

We report on the first observation, to our knowledge, of the photorefractive effect in BaTiO3 at 1.5µm using ultrashort, intense pulses. This effect can be important for applications in optical communication.
