Abstract

We analyze parametric interactions between the fundamental and second harmonics in a dispersive medium with quadratic (or χ⁽²⁾) nonlinearities. We demonstrate the existence of stable solitary waves supported by quadratic nonlinearity, including bright and dark solitons, bound states of dark solitons, and solitons with trapped radiation.
