Single-shot 2D imaging of combustion species by using two-photon LIF

Abstract

Laser-indexed fluorescence (LIF) is one of the most important techniques for combustion diagnostics, mainly because of its potential for multiple-point visualization.1 In the visualization of flame species, almost all LIF experiments have been directed towards one-photon excitation. Examples of exceptions have been visualizations of hydrogen molecules2 and water molecules3 by using two-photon excitations with excimer lasers.
