Abstract
The retracing behavior of phase matching for optical parametric generation (OPG) was first predicted in lithium triborate (LBO) by calculation in 1991.1 Soon after, double-valued phase-matching characteristics were observed by optical parametric amplification in a LBO crystal seeded by a barium borate OPG.2 The retracing behavior of the phase-matching angle (RBPA) of many other nonlinear optical crystals in OPG was also demonstrated by calculation, and its generality was explained.3 Four-color operation of a temperature-tuned LBO synchronously pumped a Nd:YLF laser was recently obtained.4,5 We report here the simultaneous generation of two pairs of parametric radiations in an OPG with angular phase-matched LBO crystals pumped at 532 nm. Detailed information about the four parametric beams over the retracing range was obtained.
